AgFunder Global AgriFoodTech Investment Report 2024 now available

💰 Due to the economic situation, the foodtech and agritech markets – like all other markets – saw a decline in venture capital funding in 2023. Globally, the amount of investment in these sectors was 15,6 billion USD, a 49% year-on-year decline. Agrifoodtech investments in 2023 accounted for 5.5% of all venture capital investments. Only two categories recorded an increase – bioenergy and biomaterials and robotics, mechanization and agricultural equipment. 🧠 High Culture, a service combining a popular science portal and research and development. which analyzes and describes psychoactive substances, digital technologies and practices that affect brain fitness, cognitive function and mental health, has raised development funding from WP2 Investments.

🦗 HiProMine, a leader in the production of insect biomass, has opened a new plant in Karkoszów, covering 20 000 sqm and capable of producing 50 000 tons of products annually. With an investment of 225 million PLN, backed by a loan from BGK and an issue of shares, the company plans to build also another plant to meet growing demand for innovative raw materials.

📈 EIT Food has published “The State of the CEE FoodTech & AgriTech Report 2023” providing the most detailed analysis of the agrifood innovation ecosystem in Central and Eastern Europe. The report includes information on major funding rounds, the impact of geopolitics on food security and strategic directions for startups and investors.

🍏 Fresh Inset, a Polish leader in technology for extending the freshness of agricultural products using Vidre+TM technology, has raised 22 million PLN in a series B financing round from Montis Capital and Sheikh Capital ASI.

🚀 The call for applications for the Mazovian Startup IV acceleration program is open until April 30th. The accelerator is aimed at innovative and socially responsible startups that want to change their reality for the better!
