🥕 Farmer Direct – the owner of the Lokalny Rolnik brand has acquired Wojna Warzyw, including the brand, domains, store, warehouse, customer base and app. As a result of the acquisition, both Wojna Warzyw and Lokalny Rolnik will continue to operate and pursue their independent growth strategies.
💊 Evidose – a startup that conducts decentralized studies of the effectiveness of dietary supplements, has raised about 2 million PLN from Inovo VC and 500 Emerging Europe funds.
💪 Holi – a Polish metabolic health clinic has raised 3 million PLN in a pre-seed round from YZR Capital, HEARTFELT_ and angel investors – Damian Zapata (CEO of Modivo and former board member of Allegro) and Robert Bogucki (co-founder of deepsense.ai and Codilime).
🇫🇷 Bezmięsny under its international brand Plenty Reasons is entering the French market in cooperation with the OfficialVeganShop.com platform.
🔬 Simpact Ventures invests in Verdant Nature – a Polish-American biotechnology company that has brought to market a technology that makes the active ingredients in supplements better absorbed by the body.

🎬 On Thursday, December 7, at 18:00, Warsaw’s Muranów Cinema will host a screening of the film “Grasshopper Republic”, as part of the WATCH DOCS festival, which takes an unconventional approach to topics related to the future of our planet – from overexploitation of ecosystems and unbridled economic growth to ethics and sustainability. The film will be followed by a discussion “Eating Right, Right to Eat” featuring Michał Piosik.
🍏 On Thursday, December 14, from 10:00 to 14:00, CIC Warsaw will host a foodservice industry conference, “Looking for savings, reducing waste”. Guests and speakers include Tomasz Szuba (Venturis HoReCa), Michał Piosik (foodtech.ac), Arek Kleszcz (MyEgg) and Jagna Niedzielska.
🚀 The finals of the IV edition of the Mazovian Startup acceleration program will be held on Thursday, December 14, from 15:30 to 19:30 at the Warsaw Stock Exchange. As many as 3 foodtech startups – PROTEINrise, Lutkala and Fast Track – are among the 10 finalists who will compete for prizes totaling 75 thousand PLN.
🇩🇪 Also on Thursday, December 14, at 16:00, the stream of the Demo Day of the 11th cohort of the Berlin-based ProVeg Incubator starts.

🏆 The call for applications for the Food Tech Challengers competition, which is part of the Food Tech Congress taking place on May 29-30, 2024 in Warsaw, of which we are a partner, has been launched. We encourage you to apply, as FTC attracts investors and big agrifood players from all over the world, as last year’s edition proved. It is worth ensuring your visibility by applying to one of the six competition categories!
🇪🇸 The call for applications for the Foodtech Innovation Awards, which will be held as part of Food 4 Future – ExpoFoodTech in Bilbao on April 16-18, 2024, has started. This is one of the largest foodtech conferences in Europe, so we also strongly encourage you to apply.
🌱 You can now submit your nominations for the Plant-based Product of the Year 2023 competition organized by Roślinniejemy.
PFR Ventures Start-up Giftbook
PFR Ventures has launched the Start-up Giftbook, a holiday database of products and services from startups that might make good gifts for Christmas. Some of them offer special discount codes.
